• Here is a tip for the jewelry maker in you! When you are working with jumprings, headpins and wire, do you find your ordinary pliers makes marks on the metal? Try wrapping the tips of ordinary pliers with some type of tape (duct tape works very well for this) to keep them from marking up the metal. Keep and eye out in the hardware stores for those 'bargain bins' full of pliers and other tools - they may not be intended for jewelry making, but they are cheaper and with a little tape you have the perfect tools!

Create this beautiful Dried Flower Topiary!
What you will need:
Hand-Painted Pot (4"), block of dark Foam, Sheet Moss, Oak Moss, 12 " Cinnamon Stick, White Statice, Rose Stemmed Strawflowers, Yellow Stock, and Ivy
1. Cut a piece of the foam block to fit the pot; next, cut and round another piece of foam for the head.

2. Cut flowers the same length , inserting stems into head. Make your own design. I used only 3 different flowers to complement the colors of the Yellow Hand-Painted Pot.

3. Insert small pieces of oak moss between the stems to fill in gaps.

4. Fill in with flowers until the head is difficult to hold, then glue head onto Cinnamon stick.

5. Glue stick into base, then cover base with Sheet Moss. Wind English Ivy around the Cinnamon.

Create your own Alien that you have just discovered in Space! What will he or she look like? What will it talk like? Pretend it brought you a flower from planet "ZeeVor"...what does it look like? Does the flower smell good or bad? Does the flower need water to grow? Does the flower need sunlight or moonlight to grow? Make a story about your adventures! When you are drawing your adventures...try using the computer or combine regular mediums like crayons with markers or markers with watercolors!
