Rose Necklace & Earring Set
This necklace is just gorgeous! Made with three different colors of rose, the cascading style of the necklace and earrings is just lovely. It may look complicated to make, but it's actually very easy. Materials:
Directions for the Necklace (18 inches) : Step 1: Cut 18 inches of the chain and fold in half to find the exact middle. (If you desire to make a longer length necklace, buy more chain. For this idea, you will need 22 inches total so you need a 2 ft chain). Use a 24 gauge head pin (50098) and string a light rose 3mm swarovski crystal, then string it through the link in the middle of the chain and add a rose crystal, a fuchsia crystal, a crimp bead, a 4mm fire polished, a flat heishi, another 4mm fire polished and a crimp bead, make a loop at the end but don't close it tight. Then use a 20 gauge head pin (#50104) and string a 6mm fire polished crystal, make a loop and close tightly and hang it from the other loop and close tightly. You have the first dangle! Step 2: Repeat the process by stringing a light rose 3mm crystal through a 24 gauge head pin, move across the chain 2 links and string it through the link following by a rose crystal and fuchsia crystal, a crimp bead and make a loop. Get a 20 gauge head pin and string a 6mm fire polished bead, make a loop and hang it from the other loop, now you have the 2nd dangle! 
Step 3: You will have a dangle at every 2 links. The 3rd dangle will be placed 2 links from the 2nd dangle, and for this one you will need a 24 gauge head pin, string through it a 3mm light rose crystal then string it through the link and add the 3mm rose crystal and fuchsia 3mm crystal, make a loop at the end. Get a 24 gauge head pin and string a 4mm fire polished just like you did with the other two dangles, only this time it's a 4mm bead. Make a loop and hang it from the other loop. Step 4: The 4th dangle goes on the other side of the middle dangle and it is just like the 2nd in Step 2 , the 5th dangle is a repeat of Step 3. Once you are done just attach the lobster clasp with a jump ring to the end of the necklace. Directions for the Earrings (2 inches): You will need 2 lengths of chain, 2 inches each. Start by preparing all the crystal dangles, you will need 4 of the light rose, 4 of the rose and 4 of the fuchsia tone. For these, use a 24 gauge head pin and string a single bead through each of them making a loop at the end. Once you have them all ready, start attaching them to the chain. I started with the fuchsia at the top, attach at every link (not every 2 like the necklace) but this time switch sides so that one dangle will hang to the right, the next one to the left and so on (VERY IMPORTANT). Once you have all 6 dangles, hang the chain from a 4mm fire polished bead that you have previously prepared by stringing the bead on a eye pin making a loop without closing tightly, attach to the french wire and close loop tightly. Twist bottom of eye pin open, insert chain into opening, close eye pin tightly. You are all done, enjoy! |
