Rosy Necklace
You will love our necklace this week that's just perfect for Valentine's Day. Two strands of beads and a bead accented chain strand flow beautifully together and really stand out. The mixture of ruby and rose blends so well together and our beautiful ruby Swarovski graphic bead gives this necklace just the right finishing touch as a focal pendant near the end. This necklace measure 23" long with a 3.5" dangle. Materials:
Directions: Step 1. Cut 2 strands of SoftFlex, one about 21” long and the other about 23” long. Step 2. (Note: Keep the Clasp closed while working). String the shorter strand of SoftFlex through a Crimp Bead, through the first loop of the clasp, then back through the Crimp Bead. Crush the Crimp. Step 3. Repeat Step 2 with the longer strand of SoftFlex and the 2nd loop of the Clasp. Step 4. From your chain, cut two lengths of 1 ¾” and 1 ¼” from the end. Set aside. These will be for the dangle. Step 5. Onto the shorter strand of SoftFlex, string the following beads: 15 Seed Beads, 1 Rose Crystal, 1 Druk, 3 Seed Beads, 1 Silver Round, 3 Seed Beads, 1 Druk, and 1 Rose Crystal. Repeat this pattern 7 more times, ending with 15 Seed Beads. Step 6. Onto your other strand of SoftFlex, string 20 Seed Beads and a Ruby Crystal. Repeat 16 more times, ending with 20 Seed Beads. Step 7. Take 2 Eye Pins and onto each place 3 Seed Beads, 1 Pink Druk, 1 Rose Crystal, 1 Silver Round, 1 Druk, 1 Rose Crystal and 3 Seed Beads. Step 8. Using a Side Cutter cut off the excess Eye Pin leaving approximately 3/16". Using Flat Nose Pliers, bend the 3/16" pieces of wire 90°. With the Round Nose Pliers, carefully bend the 3/16" pieces of wire into a loop, but do not close tightly. Set aside. These will be referred to as Eye Pins A. 
Step 9. Onto an Eye Pin, place the Ruby Graphic Bead. Repeat Step 8. This will be referred to as Eye Pin B. Step 10. Onto a Head Pin, place 5 Seed Beads, 1 Ruby Crystal, and 5 Seed Beads. Repeat Step 8. Step 11. Onto a Head Pin, place a Rose Crystal and 3 Seed Beads, Repeat Step 8. Step 12. Onto an Eye Pin, place a Silver Round and repeat Step 8. Step 13. Onto a Eye Pin, place 3 Seed Beads and a Rose Crystal. Repeat Step 8. Step 14. The Head Pin and Eye Pins from Steps 11, 12, and 13 will be connected together to make part of the dangle. Insert the open part of the Eye Pin containing the Silver Round into the Head Pin from Step 11. Close tightly. Step 15. Open the eye of the Eye Pin that contain the Silver Round and insert the loop of the Eye Pin from Step 13. Your dangle should have a Crystal at each end. Close tightly. Step 16. Now you will use the 2, small, 1 ¾” and 1 ¼” pieces of chain that you cut earlier. Insert the Eye Pin that you just assembled into the end of the 1 ¼” piece of chain and close tightly. Step 17. Take the Head Pin from Step 10 and insert the loop into the end of the 1 ¾” piece of chain and close tightly. Step 18. Take these 2 pieces of chain and insert them into the loop of the Eye Pin containing the Graphic Bead, (Eye Pin B). Close tightly. Step 19. Using the loop from the other end of the Eye Pin B, attach the 2 Eye Pins A (from Step 7) by inserting them into the loop and closing both loops tightly. Step 20. Cut your chain into 2 equal parts. Step 21. Take one piece of the remaining chain and insert one of the Eye Pins A. Close tightly. Step 22. Repeat Step 21 with the other piece of chain and the other Eye Pin A. Step 23. Twist open a Jump Ring and insert it onto the other end of the chain and the last loop of the Clasp. Close the Jump Ring. Step 24. Repeat Step 23 for the other end of the chain and the other side of the clasp. Enjoy! |
