Stretchy Bracelets with a Square Knot
Stretchy bracelets are hot!  For our examples we used Japanese Square Beads and Crystals in varying sizes.  The grouping to the right is made from our Caribbean Mix of square beads and silver lined square beads.

Opelon is perfect for using with crystals and beads with larger holes.  If you wish to string seed beads, you'll probably want to try Stretch Magic instead.

After you string your desired beads, you may want to crimp the ends, but tying a square knot is much easier.  To help you in tying a square knot look at the diagrams below.  Note that the threads are in two colors, the right is in blue, the left is in black.

After completing Figure 1, pull all four threads as shown by the arrows for a nice tight knot and you're all done!  Hopefully this will help you have a lot of stretchy fun!

100% Word Directions (if the pictures above don't make sense):
(Right over left and left over right,
Makes the knot neat and tidy and tight)

Step 1. Hold the end of strand A in your left hand and the end of strand B in your right hand.
Step 2. Cross rope A over rope B to form an X.

Step 3. Wrap A once to the right around B, just like the first step in tying a bow in your shoelace. A is now sticking out to the right and B is to the left.

Step 4. Cross A over B again, forming another X.

Step 5. Wrap A once to the left around B.

Step 6. Pull on the free ends to tighten the knot.
