Necklace Directions:
Let’s start by saying that when making this necklace, you should be
creative. Use your own style and taste to put together your Eye Pins.
A couple of the packages of beads you will be receiving are mixes (e.g.
item #24087 and item #24110); therefore, you may not receive the exact
same beads as those shown in the picture.
Have fun putting together your own pattern and deciding what colors
to use. Try to give your necklace “balance” by mixing up the sizes
of the beads, so that you do not have a lot of larger beads all together
or vice versa.
You may be creative with your earrings, as well; however, if you would
like them to look just like ours, you will need to save the following:
4 Grayish Blue Rock Beads, 2 Pearls, 2 Crystals, 2 Silver Plated Rounds,
2 Bali Beads, 12 links from the Chain (measures about 2”) and 4 Eye Pins.
The finished length of our necklace is approximately 45”, including
the Chain at the end.
Step 1. We put together 30 Eye Pins for our necklace. You
may do the same. You can add more to increase the length of the necklace,
or decrease the number for a shorter necklace. Onto each of your
Eye Pins, place beads in whatever fashions you choose. On some of
the Pins, place 1 bead, on some 2, onto others 3, and onto others 4 or
5, if you can fit them.
Step 2. Using flat nose pliers, bend the wire of each beaded
Eye Pin 90°. Using a Side Cutter cut off the excess from each
Eye Pin, leaving approximately 3/16". Carefully bend the 3/16" pieces
of wire into loops using Round Nose Pliers and close tightly.
Step 3. Connect all your Eye Pins together, in the manner that
you desire, using Jump Rings. You will twist open a Jump Ring and
insert the loop of one Eye Pin, then the loop of another Eye Pin.
Twist the Jump Ring closed. (Keep in mind the “balance” of the necklace.)
(Note: in connecting the Eye Pins together, you may use 2 Jump Rings,
if desired, by doing the following: twist open a Jump Ring and insert the
loop of an Eye Pin, then twist the Jump Ring closed. Twist open another
Jump Ring and insert the attached Jump Ring and the loop of another Eye
Pin. Twist the second Jump Ring closed. We did this to give
the necklace more of a “chain linked” look).
Step 4. Cut 6” of Chain using Memory Wire Cutters (Bolt Cutters
will also work if you already have some at home).
Step 5. Twist open a Jump Ring and insert the end of the 6” of
Chain and the loop of the last attached Eye Pin on one end of your necklace.
Twist the Jump Ring closed.
Step 6. Twist open a Jump Ring and insert the loop from the “Hook”
part of the Clasp and the loop of the last attached Eye Pin on the other
end of your necklace. Twist the Jump Ring closed. (Note: you
will not attach the “Eye” part of the Clasp since the “Hook” will fit through
any link of the Chain. This will also allow for length adjustment.)
Step 7. Onto a Head Pin, place 1, 2, or 3 beads of your choice.
Using flat nose pliers, bend the wire 90°. Using a Side Cutter
cut off the excess from the Head Pin, leaving approximately 3/16".
Carefully bend the 3/16" piece of wire into a loop using Round Nose Pliers
and close tightly.
Step 8. Twist open a Jump Ring and insert the loop of the Head
Pin and the last link of the Chain. Twist the Jump Ring closed.
Your necklace is finished…now for the earrings.
Earring Directions
1st Pair:
Step 1. Onto a Head Pin, place 1 Bali Bead, 1 Rock Bead, and
1 Crystal.
Step 2. Using flat nose pliers, bend the wire 90°. Using
a Side Cutter cut off the excess from the Head Pin, leaving approximately
3/16". Carefully bend the 3/16" piece of wire into a loop using Round
Nose Pliers, but do not close tightly.
Step 3. Cut 6 links off your extra piece of Chain.
Step 4. Insert the end of the Chain that you just cut into the
open loop of your Head Pin. Close the loop of the Head Pin.
Step 5. Insert the other end of the attached Chain onto a Kidney
Ear wire.
Step 6. Repeat Steps 1-5 for the second earring.
2nd Pair:
Step 1. Onto a Head Pin, place a Rock Bead.
Step 2. Using flat nose pliers, bend the wire 90°.
Using a Side Cutter cut off the excess from the Head Pin, leaving approximately
3/16". Carefully bend the 3/16" piece of wire into a loop using Round
Nose Pliers, but do not close tightly. Set aside.
Step 3. Onto an Eye Pin, place a Pearl. This will be called
Eye Pin #1
Step 4. Repeat Step 2 with Eye Pin #1.
Step 5. Insert the loop of the Head Pin into the closed loop
of Eye Pin #1. Close the loop of the Head Pin tightly.
Step 6. Onto an Eye Pin, place a Silver Plated Round. This
will be called Eye Pin #2.
Step 7. Repeat Step 2 with Eye Pin #2, closing your loop tightly.
Step 8. Insert the open loop of Eye Pin #1 into a loop from Eye
Pin #2. Close the loop of Eye Pin #1 tightly.
Step 9. Put the other loop from Eye Pin #2 through a Kidney Ear
Wire.
Step 10. Repeat Steps 1-9 for the second earring.
