Time Flies Necklace
Our new steampunk watch parts and faces present so many possibilities, it’s hard to know where to begin! This whimsical necklace is meant to demonstrate a few techniques for jewelry-making with watch parts including gluing and hole punching. The finished length measures approximately 21 inches, including the clasp. Please note: The faces and parts you will receive will NOT be the same as those pictured since they come in random bags; this idea is meant for inspiration only.

Directions:
Step 1. Using a toothpick, spread a thin layer of E6000 on back of the tip of one of the Angel Wings and on a Bail. Allow them to sit for 2-3 minutes before pressing them together, centering it so that the loop of the Bail is even with the tip. Repeat with the other Angel Wing and Bail. Let them set for at least 20 minutes before using them.
Step 2. Using Hole Punch Pliers, punch holes in the Watch Face around the 10:30 and 1:30 marks. Using a thin layer of E-6000, glue down a few Gears and the Star Charm in a symmetrical pattern on the Watch Face. Twist open a Jump Ring with Chain Nose Pliers and thread it through the punched hole, then through the loop of the Angel Wing. Twist the Jump Ring closed and repeat on the other side of the Watch Face.
Step 3. Cut four pieces of Soft Flex; two pieces measuring 5 inches, and two measuring 6 inches in length.
Step 4. Take a 5 inch piece and string the following: one Crimp Bead, two Pearls, one Spacer, one Pearl, one Spacer, two Pearls, one Filigree Tube, two Pearls, one Spacer, one Pearl, one Spacer, two Pearls, and one Crimp Bead. Thread one end through the Bail glued to the Angel Wing and bring it back through the Crimp Bead. Crush with Crimping Pliers. Take the other end through an open piece of a Gear (or one with holes punched with Pliers) and back through the Crimp Bead, crushing with Crimping Pliers. Trim any excess Soft Flex.
Step 5. Repeat Step 4 on the other Angel Wing.
Step 6. Take a 6 inch piece of Soft Flex and string the following: one Crimp Bead, two
Silver Rounds, one Swarovski, one Filigree Tube, one Swarovski, one Silver Round, one Swarovski, one Silver Round, one Swarovski, one Filigree Tube, one Swarovski, one Silver Round, one Swarovski, one Silver Round, one Swarovski, one Filigree Tube, one Swarovski, four Silver Rounds, and a Crimp Bead. Bring the end with two Silver Rounds through the other side of the Gear and back through the Crimp Bead, then crush with Crimping Pliers. Do the same on the other end with one piece of the Filigree Clasp. Trim any excess Soft Flex.
Step 7. Repeat Step 6 on the other Gear with the other piece of the Clasp. Enjoy!
