Badlands Necklace
Turquoise is such a big stone this year, and these chips look great in a multi-strand necklace paired with simple brown wood rounds and a handmade chain composed of our silver hammertone links and rings. Plus, Brandi (the other half of our customer service duo) told me these are her all-time favorite colors…so we might have to rock/paper/scissors to see who gets it! -Dannie, Customer Service

Directions:
Step 1. Cut two pieces of Soft Flex, one measuring 14 inches and the other measuring 16 inches. Take the shorter piece and string one Crimp, four Turquoise Chips, one Heishi, and one Wood Round.
Step 2. Continue stringing with two Turquoise Chips, one Wood Round, one Turquoise Chip, one Heishi, one Turquoise Chip, and one Wood Round. Repeat this pattern three more times. Finish stringing with two Turquoise Chips, one Wood Round, one Heishi, four Turquoise Chips, and a Crimp.
Step 3. Take the longer strand of Soft Flex and string one Crimp, four Turquoise Chips, one Heishi, and one Wood Round.
Step 4. Continue stringing with two Turquoise Chips, one Wood Round, two Heishe, and one Wood Round. Repeat this pattern five more times. Finish with two Turquoise Chips, one Wood Round, one Heishi, four Turquoise Chips, and a Crimp.
Step 5. Thread one end of the shorter strand through a hole in one of the Hammertone Links, then back through the Crimp Bead. Crush with Crimping Pliers and trim excess Soft Flex. Repeat this with one end of the longer strand through the same hole. Then repeat with the other two ends of the strands in the other Hammertone Link.
Step 6. Twist open a Jump Ring with Flat Nose Pliers and thread it through the empty hole in one of the Hammertone Links, then through a Floating Ring. Using Jump Rings, connect a Hammered Ring to this Floating Ring, then another Floating Ring to that, a Hammered Ring, a Floating Ring, a Hammered Ring, and another Floating Ring. Attach one piece of the Toggle Clasp to the last Floating Ring with a Jump Ring and ensure that all of the Jump Rings are securely twisted closed.
Step 7. Repeat Step 6 on the other side of the necklace with the other half of the Toggle Clasp. Ensure that when the necklace is laid flat, each of the Hammered Rings is facing in the same direction.
Step 8. Twist open a Jump Ring and thread on three Turquoise Chips (select three of the flattest ones). Close this Jump Ring, thread another one through it and then through the Toggle Clasp to create a dangle. Enjoy! |
