Holly and Ivy Ornament
I just got married two months ago and my new husband and I haven’t collected many ornaments yet, so I’ve been spending a lot of time handcrafting them out of wire and beads for our little tree. I love the rustic feel of our Vintage Bronze Parawire, and the filigrees add some Victorian romance alongside our Fuchsia and Forest Green Fire Polished Crystals. Make this for your own Christmas tree or give it as a gift that will be treasured for years to come! -Dannie, Customer Service

Directions:
Step 1. Overlap one Filigree atop the other so that they are crisscrossed, creating 8 points. Cut a piece of 24 gauge Wire about 2 inches long and string an 8mm Forest Green Crystal onto it, moving it to the center of the Wire. Position the Crystal in the center of the Filigrees and insert the wire on either side through both Filigrees; twist the Wire tightly a few times on the back and then flatten it against the Filigree, trimming any excess with Side Cutters.

Step 2. Cut 8 pieces of 20 gauge Wire, each measuring about 4.5 inches in length. Bend each of these into a gentle U shape, ensuring that the ends are even. Take one piece and feed the ends through two adjoining points on the Filigree, pushing it through until it’s snug and the ends are even. Cut a piece of 24 gauge Wire about an inch in length. Use this to wrap the center of the U to the Filigree 3-4 times by hand, trimming any excess with Side Cutters. Repeat this process with the other 7 pieces of wire, wrapping each U shape to the Filigree in turn.

Step 3. Onto one of the spokes, string a 4mm Fuchsia Crystal, a 6mm Forest Green Crystal, and a 6mm Fuchsia Crystal. Using Round Nose Pliers, curl the end of the spoke into your desired shape. Continue around to each of the spokes, bending them into a V shape as you go. This is a time for you to get creative!

Step 4. Create a simple hook by cutting a 6 inch piece of 20 gauge Wire. Form it into a loop around your finger and make a simple or wrapped loop by hand, attaching it to two adjoining swirls on the ornament. Enjoy!
