Empress Dragonfly Ribbon Bookmark
I am absolutely in love with our new silk ribbon and who can resist the sparkle of Preciosa crystals? This bookmark is made from our Empress Purple silk ribbon with dangles added to each end. The main end features our silver plated dragonfly charm with crystal and pearl dangles. The opposite end of the bookmark has a cluster of crystals and pearls as well. I can't wait to bring this bookmark home and start using it in my favorite garden book! Directions:
Step 1. Cut a piece of Ribbon measuring approximately 11 ½ inches in length. Fold over each end approximately ¼ inch. If you choose, now is a great time to use an iron--on a low setting--to release any wrinkles and set the folded edges.
Step 2. Place one end into a Ribbon Clamp, making sure that it is flush against the back. Hold the Clamp steadily and keep working a bit from side to side, squeezing down and working inward to the middle until the Ribbon is tightly secured.
Step 3. Create the dangles. Take six Head Pins and thread one Peridot Crystal onto each. Thread two Head Pins with one Silver Plated Round, one Blue Zircon Crystal and one Silver Plated Round. Thread two more with a single Pearl. Form a loop about 2mm above the beads and, gripping the loop with Flat Nose Pliers, start wrapping the remainder of the wire from the Head Pin around the base with your fingers. Trim any excess with Wire Cutters.
Step 4. Twist open a Jump Ring and slide on a wire-wrapped Peridot Crystal, one Pearl, one Peridot, one Blue Zircon and one Peridot. Before closing the Jump Ring, slide through the loop on one end of the Clamp.
Step 5. Twist open a Jump Ring and slide through the top loop of the Dragonfly; connect this to the other Ribbon Clamp. Twist open one more Jump Ring and slide on a wire-wrapped Peridot Crystal, one Pearl, one Peridot, one Blue Zircon and one Peridot. Before twisting the Jump Ring closed, slide through the bottom loop of the Dragonfly. Enjoy!
