Vintage Brass and Ribbon Necklace
Kelly from our piecework department has created a real showpiece that is simple and elegant. She used a Vintage Brass Filigree Half Round Ring, Corsican Drop and Ruby Swarovski Baroque Pendant to assemble the focal. Added interest is the Mulberry Silk Ribbon that she wove through coordinating chain. You’ll also love the ingenious closure which allows you to adjust this necklace to three different lengths. Measures approximately 13 inches with a 2 inch drop.

Directions:
Step 1. Lay the 2 foot strand of Chain on a flat workable surface. Take one end of the Silk String and start weaving it through each link of Chain. Keep the Chain in somewhat of the same position as you weave in and out; it is key to achieving a uniform look. Weave the Silk String through the entire length of Chain. To make it a little bit easier, you can thread the String through a beading needle.

Step 2. Knot the ends of the String on the last links of Chain on each side to keep it secured. On one end, form another knot connecting the String to a 12mm Jump Ring. Cut away any excess String. Slightly open a Filigree Round with Flat Nose Pliers and insert the opposite end of Chain into it. Use Flat Nose Pliers to close the Filigree Round back into bead form.

Step 3. Approximately 1¼ inches from the last end in step 2, open another Filigree Round and insert the Chain, close it using Flat Nose Pliers. Repeat this one more time approximately 1½ inches down. This allows you to adjust the length you want to wear your necklace; just pop one through the Jump Ring from the opposite side to position.

Step 4. Assemble the focal. Twist open three 12mm Jump Rings and slide the Filigree Ring through. Before twisting the Jump Rings closed insert the chain. Wrap the Corsican Drop around the Filigree Ring while lining up both of the loops. To keep it secure, twist open a 6mm Jump Ring and slide it through both of the loops from the Corsican Drop and through the hole in the Baroque Pendant. Enjoy!
