Clockwork Symphony Necklace
The Steampunk style has always intrigued me, so this week I decided to crank out the gears for my idea, the Clockwork Symphony Necklace. With perfect symmetry, I’ve linked our Silver Plated Gears with Vintage Ridged Rings and a Dimpled Diamond Drop. Alongside Matte Black Glass Bicones, our Orange Rock Beads (my very favorite beads!) power the design with their luminous glow. The finished length, including clasp, measures approximately 18 ¾ inches. –Kara, Customer Service

Directions:
Step 1. Cut 2 pieces of Silver Plated Small Oval Chain into approximately 5 ¾ inch lengths. Cut 2 pieces of Vintage Medium Cable Chain into approximately 4 ¾ inch lengths. Set aside.

Step 2. To connect the following components, you will be using 5 leftover Vintage Medium Cable Chain Links. Using Flat Nose Pliers, twist open one Vintage Chain Link and slide it through the hole on the Vintage Dimpled Diamond Drop Charm and then through one of the large openings on the Silver Plated Large Spoke Gear. Twist the Vintage Chain Link closed.

Step 3. Position the Silver Spoke Gear from the previous step so that the Diamond Drop is hanging centered underneath. Twist open one Vintage Chain Link and slide it through the upper left large opening on the Silver Plated Large Spoke Gear and then through one small hole on one of the Vintage Ridged Rings. Twist the Vintage Chain Link closed.

Step 4. Twist open one Vintage Chain Link and slide it through the remaining small hole on the Vintage Ridged Ring and through one of the Silver Plated Medium Open Gears. Twist the Vintage Chain Link closed.

Step 5. Using Round Nose Pliers, twist open the loop on one of the Vintage Eye Pins and slide it through the opposite end of the Silver Plated Medium Open Gear. Twist the loop closed. Slide on two Matte Black Bicones, one Large Light/Dark Orange Rock Bead, and one Matte Black Bicone. Form a simple loop above the Bicone by bending the Eye Pin 90 degrees with Flat Nose Pliers. Trim the excess wire with Side Cutters to leave 3/8 inch behind and then curl this into a tight loop with Round Nose Pliers.

Step 6: Using one of the Vintage and one of the Silver Chain segments, twist open the last links on each chain and slide them through the Eye Pin loop you made on the previous step. Twist the Chain Links closed.

Step 7. Using Round Nose Pliers, twist open the loop on one of the Vintage Eye Pins and slide it through the opposite end of the two Chain segments. Twist the loop closed. Slide on two Matte Black Bicones. Form a simple loop above by bending the Eye Pin 90 degrees with Flat Nose Pliers. Trim the excess wire with Side Cutters to leave 3/8 inch behind and then curl this into a tight loop with Round Nose Pliers.

Step 8. Twist open the eye end of your Vintage Hook and Eye Clasp and slide it through the loop you made on the previous step. Twist closed.

Step 9. Repeat steps 3 through 7 starting with the upper right large opening on the Silver Plated Large Spoke Gear and ending with the hook end of your Vintage Hook and Eye Clasp. Enjoy!
